This policy explains what RowdyCareer collects, why, and what you can do about it. RowdyCareer is operated by Saswath Venkatesh, 7008 Evans Dr, Round Rock, Texas, 78681. Questions: support@rowdycareer.com.

1. What we collect

2. Your resume

Your resume file is read in your browser and is never uploaded to our servers. Parsing happens locally on your device. We store the resulting tailored documents you choose to save, and the skills used to match you to jobs — not the original file.

If you clear your browser data or use a different device, you will be asked to upload your resume again. That is a direct consequence of not storing it.

3. The Chrome extension

RowdyCareer — Save & Fill is an optional browser extension. Installing it is entirely up to you; the website works without it. This section describes exactly what it does, because an extension can see pages and you should know the limits of that.

When it reads a page

Only when you click its icon. It does not watch, read or record pages in the background, and it has no access to any tab until you deliberately open it on that tab.

What it reads, and what happens to it

Permissions, and why each one exists

activeTab — lets it read the one tab you clicked on, at the moment you click. This is what makes "read only on click" enforceable rather than a promise.
scripting — to run the code that reads the posting or fills the form, in that tab.
storage — to keep your answers and session in your browser.
Access to rowdycareer.com — to read your sign-in session from your own RowdyCareer tab, so you are not asked to sign in twice.

It asks for no other sites. It cannot read your email, your bank or any other page unless you click the icon while you are on it.

What it never does

It never submits a form. It fills fields and stops. Pressing submit is always yours.
It never fills sensitive fields. Social security numbers, dates of birth, bank and card details are deliberately skipped even if you have an answer saved.
It does not read pages you have not opened it on, and keeps no history of the pages you visit.
It contains no analytics, no trackers and no advertising code.
It does not sell or share what it reads. Nothing goes to any third party, and nothing goes to an employer — you apply yourself.
It loads no code from the internet. Everything it runs ships inside the extension.

Removing it

Uninstalling the extension deletes the copy of your answers and your session held in your browser. The answers stored on your account are removed when you clear them on the Options page, or when you delete your RowdyCareer account.

4. What we never do

We do not sell your personal data. Not to recruiters, not to advertisers, not to anyone.
We do not send your resume or profile to employers. You apply yourself, through the employer's own link.
We do not show advertising, and we do not use advertising trackers.

5. Companies that process data for us

Job listings are collected from public sources — Greenhouse, Lever, USAJobs and Adzuna. We send those services search terms, never anything that identifies you.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use no advertising or analytics cookies. We store the following in your browser only:

A sign-in session, so you are not asked to log in on every page
Your appearance choice (light, dark or automatic)
Your work-authorisation filter setting
A local copy of your tracker, so it still shows if the network drops
A local copy of your notifications, so they load instantly when you return

Clearing your browser data removes all of it and signs you out.

7. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

See your data — your profile, tracker and documents are visible in the app, and the tracker exports to CSV.
Correct it — edit your profile at any time.
Delete it — deleting your account removes your profile, tracker and documents.
Take it with you — export your tracker as CSV, or ask us for a copy of everything.
Object or restrict — write to us and we will explain your options.

If you are in the UK, EU, California or another region with specific privacy rights, those rights apply to you and we will honour them. Email support@rowdycareer.com and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every table enforces row-level security, so your account can only ever read or write its own rows — this is enforced by the database, not just by the app. Payment details never reach our servers.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you promptly and explain what happened.

9. Children

RowdyCareer is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy materially, we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
